We have both worked "behind the scenes" at Bearnstow as interns, Day Camp leaders, etc. So, we have spent many hours working in Bearnstow's kitchen and know first hand the creative energy doesn't stop when you pass through the swinging doors from the main dance studio. We wanted to portray those moments of playful creation that pop-up when you think you're just coming to the kitchen to make dinner.

The Picnic Sisters are comprised of Molly Hess and Eliza Malecki who met in 2016 as Resident Artists at Bearnstow in Mt. Vernon, ME. They immediately found a kinship in their choreographic practice and the following summer created their first duet, 4k Dash. Together they create witty, upbeat, dances with a touch of tenderness. Their works have been shown as part of TRACKS//Boston (MA), Bearnstow Artist showcases (ME), 3 Spice Presents (MA), A Walking Birthday(MA), Modern Movements Festival (RI), and The Acadia Dance Festival (ME).
